October – Cambodia: Children’s Lifeline / Plasticos Foundation
In October of 2011, Lifeline’s cranial facial team revisited Angkor Children’s Hospital. Lifeline and the Plasticos Foundation cosponsored the mission. Doctor Larry Nichter, mission leader and his medical team of seven traveled from Orange County, California to Cambodia. Upon arrival the team evaluated thirty-nine children. During a period of seven days the team was able to perform surgeries on twenty-nine of the children. The children ranged in age from an infant of two months to a young girl of fourteen, they underwent successful corrective plastic surgery. The surgeries encompassed various disciplines from cleft lip to burn scar tissue, con-fractures to extra digits on hands or feet.
