This year’s Neonatal Intensive Care Mission to Guayaquil was led by Dr. Fabio Olarte, MD from Frederick Memorial Hospital and Elizabeth Cristofalo, MD, from Johns Hopkins University Hospital. The group consisted of Neonatologists, Respiratory Therapist and NICU nurse Janice Beekman from Frederick Memorial Hospital. During their visit they presented lectures in Necrotizing Enterocolitis, Neonatal Nutrition, Infant Development, Modes of Ventilation and Approach to Treatment of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy with an attendance of 80 neonatologists, residents and medical students.
